The UCI School of Physical Sciences Science Communication Fellowship advances the school’s mission to communicate science effectively using a wide variety of media and platforms.
One fellow will be selected from each department in the School of Physical Sciences. Each fellowship may be renewed quarterly, as determined by engagement in fellowship and communication efforts. The program will enhance the Physical Sciences Communications & External Relations Office by advancing its mission to communicate the school’s research to diverse audiences.

Time Commitment: Average of 10 hours a week
Award Amount: $1,000 per month
The UCI School of Physical Sciences Communications and External Relations team is responsible for publicizing the school and its strategic priorities to internal and external audiences. We partner with faculty and researchers to promote their work through news releases, events and digital and print platforms. Our office provides resources and guidance on marketing best practices, websites, graphic design, media relations and more.

The 2024-2025 Application is open until September 3, 2024 at 5 p.m. PT.
Interested graduate students must submit a completed application, along with a CV and two writing samples (professional or academic) that you feel best represent your writing ability. If you are selected, you must obtain approval to participate in the fellowship from your faculty advisor and the department graduate vice-chair.
